With school and life going on I haven't had much time to make anything for July 4th. Well I finally finished something for my front door!
I got this idea from Pinterest. The wreath below is made by Michele Made Me.
I loved everything about it. Especially that it was made out of newspaper! That screams FREE to me.
We get the newspaper ads in the mail all the time and I got some from work.
Cut tons of strips of newspaper. Then start making rosettes. Use the same technique as you would with fabric.
If you follow me on Facebook, you saw my newspaper rosettes.
At this point I was rosetted out. My fingers were burnt and it took an episode of So You Think You Can Dance and Shrek 4 to make all of those. I must be just a wee bit slow.
I then made a frame from some scrap wood leftover from the chess board that Wyatt and I made. I also spay painted the flowers in red, white, and blue. The hot glue them on the frame in a random pattern.
And here's how it came out:
I just love it!
I will probably never make another one, or at least if I do it will only have 3 rosettes.
I just love the square frame, so different then the normal circle. Yes, I bleeped out our house number. I don't want any creepers checking up on us!
Have you made any 4th of July decor?
